14 You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bushel, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

—Matthew 5:14–16

Rotterdam Congregation

The Methodist Church in Rotterdam has been active in ministry for thirty years.

Our community has a close relationship with the Moravian Brethren, whose physical church space, their church, is our meeting place for Sunday worship and other program activities on Thursday evenings. The Methodist family in Rotterdam consists of infants, children, youth, young adults, and seniors. Everyone is welcome.

As a member of SKIN-Rotterdam, we are ecumenical and serve the community together with other churches that share the faith.

On Sunday, our Lord’s Day gathering is a Word-centered worship service of God that includes the proclamation of the gospel; but we also share in rich fellowship as we embrace people as equal children of God. We celebrate new life in Jesus Christ and emphasize our role in the home, church, and community as stewards of God’s grace. Our Sunday meetings begin at 2:00 PM. On the second Sunday of the month, the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) is administered. On the third Sunday of each month, worship is in Dutch, but on other Sundays, it is in English.

If you are new to the city and are looking for a home church, we welcome you with open arms. If you are visiting and simply want to share in praise, worship, and fellowship, feel free to stop by. There is always coffee and tea service and fellowship after worship.

If you would like to share spiritual concerns or seek guidance, our pastoral team led by Rev’d Dr. Joan Delsol Meade will be happy to host you.

If you are new to Amsterdam or the surrounding area and are looking for a home church, or are simply looking for a church to visit during your vacation, rest assured that you are welcome at the Methodist Church.

We are a small community of Christians who meet in the Baptist Church in Amsterdam Noord. Members of the same community as the Rotterdam Methodist Church, the Amsterdam Methodist Church, have been active in ministry in the Netherlands for the past thirty years.

On Sundays, our Lord’s Day gathering is a Word-centered worship of God, which includes the proclamation of the gospel; but we also share in a rich community as we embrace people as equal children of God. We celebrate new life in Jesus Christ and emphasize our role in home, church, and community as stewards of God’s grace.

Our Sunday gatherings begin at 2:30 PM. On the first Sunday of each month, the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) is administered. On the fifth Sunday, worship is strictly in Dutch, but on other Sundays in English.

Discipleship meetings are held on the second and fourth Sundays at Buurt Centrum Spinnewiel, Dickenslaan 173, 1102 XS Amsterdam
